Well, it's been just over a week since my sixth so

Well, it's been just over a week since my sixth solo exhibition Trauma Residue closed and it's a weird feeling having the rest of the year "off." I worked so incredibly hard to deliver my most concentrated and focused exhibition and I believe I accomplished that (even through a chemical leak). With just a handful of pieces finished when I got off the road just two months prior to opening night, I ended up with 40 new originals, a new song and an immersive auditory/video installation piece that was a bizarrely impressive one-third scale house. I opened the door to trauma's discovery, infliction and aftermath which led to many fascination conversations with so many. To hear personal stories that you chose to share with me and hearing how you connect with my work is always so, so special. I love that about what I do. I create in solitude and silence, but getting it in front of you always seems to complete my work. I get to see what you react to, how it affects. That's the magic of art and it's something I NEVER take for granted. This was also my highest attended show and with that happening in Toledo, Ohio, a new city I've never showed in before, was so satisfying. People driving hours, states away and across the country to see this show in person had me feeling so fulfilled in what I do. Art is important and that connection that we now share forever is just that, endless. Trauma Residue was a moment I will not forget and I hope many of you feel the same. A sequel may be in order...

Thank you so much to everyone who took time out of their lives to experience this show. I put everything I have into it and the reciprocation of appreciation means more than I could ever put into words. So, please enjoy the imagery of opening night courtesy of the talented @montegraph1 . For a deeper dive, please go to my official website to re-live every detail including more imagery, video walkthrough, promotion visuals, signage and more that went into making Trauma Residue a one-of-a-kind show.

Without a door to open emotions mix to a poison.
No way to open you up.
Bruised colored paint, it covers the cuts.
Overflowing the windows.
The price of highs is always (to be) devoured by the lows.

I know my trauma looks like you.
Your temple it's filthy and true.
Something I could touch, trauma residue.
The walls peel.

The walls peel.
What's underneath, it's something worse.
A bruised soul, paint over the hurt.
What's underneath, it's something worse.
A bruised soul, a bible verse.
A bruised soul, a bible verse. It takes a toll when life's coerced.

I know my trauma looks like you.
Your temple it's filthy and true.
Something I could touch, trauma residue.
The walls peel.
The walls peel.
The walls peel.
The walls peel.
The walls peel.
The walls peel.
The walls peel.
The walls peel.

The writing piece reads, “When it was done with me, it left a residue. There was a film, a crust I could touch. Trauma soured this moment, an emptiness to clutch. There's another world that I wasn't invited to. It's within every decision I'll never make. It's without empathy, beneath the membrane mildew. The shape I've bent with the will of my thoughts. It wants to touch me, it devours my healing. This shape is a square, colors deceiving. Can a silhouette be dialated? Flicking the string of abusive moments, pulling at my being. Malice mutated. I reflect your emotions, welted and distorted. Staring at a second and third face that will soon be aborted. Within a temple, shaped like you. Your home, filthy and true. There was something you left behind here, trauma residue. Inhale a forgotten memory.”

Surprise! My new single will drop the day of my exhibition opening, this is Trauma Residue! This song is deeply inspired by the work in the show and the mood I've been trying to capture throughout this creative process. I am very, very proud of this track and feel it is a sonically fitting representation to everything Trauma Residue has uncovered. Enjoy this snippet and be sure to listen to the full song when it drops October 23rd on all streaming platforms. Join me in Toledo, Ohio at The Abyss for my sixth solo exhibition October 23rd, 24th & 25th. #darkart #industrialmusic #newsong #macabreart #soundart

I've been working feverishly on my upcoming solo exhibition and I'm quite excited to finally be able to pull the curtain back on this one. I remember sitting down to work on this piece with the vague intention and mood I wanted this show to possibly emit. It seemed to set a tone visually and with my writing. Ironically, it was the first piece I knew would be a part of this exhibition, so now it will be the first revealed. Trauma Residue is October 23rd-25th at @theabyss419 inside @thepalehorsebar in Toledo, Ohio.

The writing piece reads, "The fence is cracking away, the one that keeps me from harm. I will destroy your purity, this life has lost its charm. My eyes remind me of life, but my soul is battered. Cavities in its smile, holes you've patched when things used to matter. Why are bruises so pretty? Is it to reward violence? I never want this to heal, but I am so frail. The fence absorbs my dimming smile. This final feeling, the final nail."

We are just a little more than two weeks away from the @allentownnightmarket on October 10th from 7-11pm in Pittsburgh! If you're not familiar with my art, I am often described as a visual poet. Combining charcoal and pastel with my original poetry, my work seems to fit in the realm of dark surrealism. I will be bringing new originals, works in my Bible Page Series and prints ready for your walls. Come find me in the warehouse and support all the great artists at the show!
