I Will Never Have a Life of My Own

This is a very rare commission I recently completed. As with all of my commission work, I am very picky with any project I take on. I only request a touch of an idea or feeling allowing me full creative control to run with it. This was a seraphim angel they wanted in my style and fully encouraged my interpretation to allow it to be my own. I liked the idea of portraying the angel as a slave, almost bullied by god to worship and do his bidding. Flying around the throne eternally without rest being an extension of his judgment. The result was something I am very proud of and honored to have been asked and trusted to create. I’m now happy to share that with you all.

The piece reads โ€œI shall circle the throne because I will never have a life of my own. Eternal worship left me tattered and sick. My wings dry; they scab and split. My love is burning out. It surrounds the outside, but inside it’s empty and without. Without emotion, without sincerity. My time will be written with praise, but I was created to be just another casualty.โ€
