I went through all my work and marked my favorite lines I wrote this year. I then created a musical composition and read the lines at random, letting the moment after I hit the record button dictate to me which were right for my one minute retrospective. The video contained also exclusively revolves around only my work in 2019. This is what came to the surface and I wanted to share it with all of you.
I battle with looking back at the things I’ve accomplished because I feel it can take away from what you should be focused on in front of you, but I’m a very nostalgic person. I respect the past and try to learn as much as I can from it and my work is no different. In 2019 I worked really, really hard and in return achieved so much. My solo art exhibition was the absolute highlight for me. Being able to display all my released work and create a walk through installation to immerse the audience into my art was beyond fulfilling. After sitting down and rereading/viewing all my work yesterday from 2019, I am quite proud. I work so relentlessly at my craft that sometimes I forget particular lines or little details past Travis cared so much about. I found myself satisfied and happy with the art I’ve created this past year. I let this pride hold me accountable and challenge me to continue to create at the level I expect from myself.
Thank you all for making this a very memorable year for me and continuing to be loyal in your support to what I do. It truly means a lot to be able to share what I create with such a smart and dedicated circle. I’m looking forward to 2020 as I have a considerable thirst for something that has escaped me for too long. Let’s see what happens…
