Seven Weeks on the Road Complete

Seven Weeks on the Road Complete You don't get to see all the prep and how hard I've worked at this. You don't get to see all the days and nights on the road. The many hotel beds. The load ins and the load outs. The logistics being calculated. The drives back to Pittsburgh for one or two days at the most to restock, sign, mat and sleeve prints, get more originals and even working on new art between shows. It's throwing caution to the wind and it's up to you with your work to either sink or swim. It's......

Interview with Canvas Rebel

I recently sat down with Canvas Rebel to discuss the risk of being an artist and my journey to this point. I get into my process, the way I view the creative experience and why I do what I do. I was pleased with the conversation and feel like I always learn a little more about myself with these questions of introspection. I hope you enjoy this look into who I am and what I do. Read the interview here....

Let’s Start the Thirty-Fifth Chapter

It's my birthday and I've reached the 35th chapter of a life I continue to take more and more control over. That's the key to happiness, do what you love as much as you can and don't let this life dictate shit to you. Do what you want and challenge yourself continually and you'll achieve the utmost pride and pleasure. I've spent so much time in this creative space the past year and created many pieces all climaxing to my solo art exhibition. This upcoming year, even with the obvious circumstances, I plan on making the most of the time......

Aimless, Still A Target

"Aimless, I am aimless. Still a target of precise prescription pushing pills wrapped in your definition of better days. This is subjective and not my best subject. Graded by a sliding scale of grace rejecting all those within. This is your definition of better days wrapped in pills that I only chew and spit." Sitting in my creative space, letting time dictate the distance to what's next. Aimless is something I loathe being. Too many ideas and half thoughts waiting for expansion. I am so close to realizing some of my best concepts, but nothing can be forced. These moments......

Goodbye 2019

I went through all my work and marked my favorite lines I wrote this year. I then created a musical composition and read the lines at random, letting the moment after I hit the record button dictate to me which were right for my one minute retrospective. The video contained also exclusively revolves around only my work in 2019. This is what came to the surface and I wanted to share it with all of you. I battle with looking back at the things I've accomplished because I feel it can take away from what you should be focused on......

Year of Reflection

On this day, my birthday, July 14th, every year I usually take a little time to reflect on the year that was and decide if I accomplished what I set out to do. This was one of the few years I can look back fully satisfied with everything that I have done. I'm usually very hard on myself and always want to accomplish more, which isn't a bad quality, but can be a bit exhausting for me at times. My thirty-third year marked my full return as an artist with the launch of IAMUNLIKEYOU, the umbrella in which all my......

Timeless Chapter

The weather has finally turned cold just when I thought the heat may never end. To me, there has always been something special about fall that I have continually aligned with the peak of creativity. It has a smell that lends itself to being easily attached to memory and that can't magnify the good and bad. Fall is a bookmark for me. A re-readable almost timeless chapter that seems to repeat where the characters may change and the ideas become more refined, but it has undeniably the same arousing feel. Since the release and announcement of IAMUNLIKEYOU back on the......

IAMHOME – Welcome

As I sit here writing this in seclusion on a night I've waited so very long for, it's quite surreal. The moon is almost full and you will be reading this then. It's easy to say that I have survived a lot to get to this point as an artist, but it's harder to put into words the honor, privilege and most of all responsibility I feel to continue to create thought-provoking work for myself and for whoever is reading this. Tonight is the culmination of every night I chose my pen over sleep. It's for the days I could......
